Sneaking Out

Lexi didn't want to say it, she was scared she'd upset him about leaving. He was starting Hogwarts, but if he knew leaving her behind was upsetting her he might not want to go. Hogwarts was supposed to be special, especially the first year. She faltered for a moment, unsure of what to say. She couldn't lie to him and tell him there was nothing wrong, but she couldn't tell him either.

"I don't think you want to know..." She leaned her head on Harry's chest, thinking about how much she was going to miss him. She felt tears falling before she could stop them, and felt horrible about this happing now, and in front of Ginny. "We could talk about it at home later... Once we figure out how to get home." She silently hoped he might forget about this by the time they got home and then she'd be off the hook.

Harry blinked, looking at his sister. If anything, his sister was his weakness. And he was worrying her right now. He let out a quiet sigh, looking at the smaller girl's eyes. He was caught a bit off guard at her, placing a hand gently on her back and giving it a soft but firm pat.

Noticing she was crying, he felt a tiny wince escape his lips, causing him to draw back. "No, tell me what's wrong."

Lexi shook her head, she refused to tell him, she wasn't going to be the one to make him feel horrible. She stood up and wiped her eyes, calming herself down. She looked outside, at the door, and at the broom, and got an idea. She knew it was almost foolproof, unless they were caught at the Weasley's.

"Lets take he brooms, and run home. When we get home we'll tell Mum and dad that we went flying together early and I lost control of my broom. It'll get us in the least trouble." Without pausing for any objections, she went to the window, and used the broom to get down to the ground, avoiding the windows, and ducked into the shadows next to the house.
